Sublimation involves a substance that change from solid to gas without ever becoming liquid. In our industry, it is really the process where an image is printed on paper, then transferred to another surface. Unlike conventional inks, sublimation inks are converted directly from solid to gas under heat and pressure, causing them to bond with the fibers of synthetic materials, like polyester. The molecules of ink revert to solid state upon cooling, permanently coloring the surface of the polyseter.
